Description
The inspiration for this work is the composer’s first encounter with the GUO bass flute and its special, distinct, rich sound. In recent years, Jānis Lūsēns has been enthusiastically collecting various musical instruments and searching for their common and innovative sound. Some of the musical themes discovered in the process have led to the present sheet music.
Since the sound of the GUO flute is delicate, the main tone of the miniatures is calm and flowing, with playful elements that create a delicate match with the upper and middle registers of the piano. This work can serve as practice material for music schools and conservatories, as well as an addition to the repertoire of any professional flutist. The miniatures are suitable for both traditional and bass flute.
